Past Visitors & Events
The Marshal and her staff help to host a variety of visitors and delegations to the University from all around the world. If the President or Provost is unable to meet with a distinguished visitor, they are often represented by the University Marshal, who gives an overview of Harvard, conducts the traditional exchange of gifts, invites visitors to sign the University guest book, and, in some cases, leads or arranges a tour of Harvard Yard. Additionally, the Marshal’s Office arranges appointments for a variety of other international visitors to meet with Harvard faculty and administrators to learn about specific programs, policies, or operations.
